On the main features of a profession - (2007-2009 Presidency)

Abstract

The daily practice of interrogating, examining, diagnosing and treating people with disorders of the nervous system sometimes differs from the necessary discussion of the daily work and the way it is placed in the changing Colombian society of this first part of the 21st century.
Neurology is a new profession in Colombia, its differentiation from psychiatry (or neuropsychiatry) and neurosurgery began at the dawn of the second half of the last century, with the arrival in the country of the first specialists in neurology and the emergence of university degree programs dedicated exclusively to reproduce and advance neurological knowledge.
