Abstract
Optic neuromyelitis or Devic´s disease refered years ago as part of multiple esclerosis, it is known an indepent patology that affect the spinal cord and must be thought when is acompanied with blurred vision. Although unknown cause and very poor pronostic, the medical staff must be alert to study this patology very carefully and treat it in the best way. We described an adult female case who presents with medular syndrome and visual impairment. The patient admitted for multiples tests and finally the diagnosis of NMO disease. We comment diagnosis, therapeutic and disease progress (Acta Neurol Colomb 2005;21:174-177).
