Resumen
El objetivo de este manuscrito es discutir los aspectos éticos más importante a los que nos enfrentamos en Colombia con la terapia de estimulación cerebral profunda. Así mismo es importante concientizar a la comunidad neurológica en Colombia sobre los estándares mínimos que debe tener un centro quirúrgico de movimientos anormales al que se remite un paciente, para que ofrezca un procedimiento seguro; teniendo en cuenta que los resultados en el paciente dependen en gran parte tan acucioso sea el grupo en la selección, en el procedimiento en sí mismo y en la programación de los electrodos (1).
