Abstract

Headache related to physical activity is not uncommon. In young patients it usually corresponds to headache due to primary physical exertion. However, even in the presence of typical features, the diagnosis of primary exercise-related headache should be made after extensive investigation. Secondary causes include subarachnoid hemorrhage, reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome, and arterial dissection. A less common etiology is thrombosis of the dural venous sinuses. In this review we present the case of a young woman who presented with headache during a physical test in which extensive venous sinus thrombosis was documented.
