Abstract

We describe two cases with migraine with and without aura who evolves to Migrainous State (MS) requiring hospital care. Admision for management is necessary after all outpatient management measures were exhausted. The current criteria for the diagnosis of MS by the ICDH -3, its pathophysiology and the recent proposal of episodic MS were described. We propose some suggestions of current management according to the available evidence that may be useful for daily practice.
