Crisis funcionales disociativas en América Latina: una revisión de los desarrollos locales

Resumen

Introducción: las crisis funcionales disociativas (CFD) son un subtipo de los trastornos neurológicos funcionales y están caracterizadas por manifestaciones cognitivas, motoras y sensoriales. Si bien la investigación sobre CFD ha avanzado significativamente en Estados Unidos y Europa, los estudios en América Latina son menos frecuentes y su difusión, mayormente en inglés, limita el acceso a evidencia científica contextualizada para los profesionales de la región. El objetivo de este trabajo fue relevar la investigación empírica realizada en América Latina sobre pacientes con CFD.

Materiales y métodos: se realizó una revisión narrativa mediante una búsqueda en PubMed, SciELO, LILACS, Dialnet y Science Direct. Se incluyeron estudios empíricos cuantitativos, cualitativos o mix­tos, de diseño transversal o longitudinal, publicados en español, inglés o portugués.

Resultados: se analizaron 34 estudios, clasificados en enfoques cualitativos, cuantitativos y estudios de caso. Predominaron los estudios cuantitativos, con diseños no experimentales y alcance descripti­vo, y se identificaron variaciones terminológicas y diferencias en los criterios diagnósticos utilizados.

Conclusiones: la investigación sobre CFD en América Latina es aún incipiente y mayormente des­criptiva, concentrada en pocos países y sin ensayos clínicos controlados. Se destaca la necesidad de fortalecer la producción científica regional para mejorar el abordaje terapéutico de las CFD.
