Abstract
Attention is the capacity to select a particular stimulus of the set of an experience and in it to focus and to concentrate our interest. It is classified in passive and active. Their components are: selectivity, concentration, limit and facility to neglect. The upheavals of the attention are: distractibility, hipoprosexia, aprosexia, hiperprosexia and perseveration. The attention deficit disorder as symptom, is member of three groups of pathologies: attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity like primary upheaval, and behavior phenotype in neurological syndromes of childhood (Down, Tourette, etc.), in association with diverse neuropediatrics pathologies (epilepsy, encephalopathies etc.). Central nervous system stimulant and neuroleptics are used in the treatment of attention deficit disorders with hyperactivity in children with other neurological alterations.
